This morning at 0245, AAF infantry platoons with motorized capabilities have been observed operating within and around the village of Oreokastro. The AAF was observed having standard small arms weapons, anti-tank launchers, and .50 caliber machine guns. They were observed conducting resupply missions within the AO. They are also expected to have numerous LP/OP positions, as well as a potential Combat Outpost (COP) to the SE of town. The AAF is expected to have very limited communication equipment and is wearing woodland-pattern utilities.
The AAF is capable of conducting advanced fire and maneuver tactics, with motorized support. They have extensive amounts of ammunition and are capable of sustaining engagements for long periods of time. They are known to be using land mines to hinder friendly movements.
The AAF is expected to maintain defensive positions within the village of Oreokastro. Defensive patrols should be expected before, during, and after initial engagements. Expect to find land mines located in strategic areas and approaches near Oreokastro, as well as roads.
Dog Company prepares to deploy to Oreokastro on Saturday April 19, 2014.
